Environmental Law Institute Selects The YGS Group for Reprints/Permissions
MEI Global facilitates deal for YGS to broaden the reach of ELI’s esteemed nonpartisan legal analysis of environmental issues
Today The Environmental Law Institute (ELI), a one-of-a kind “environmental law think-and-do tank” committed to knowledge transfer through a non-partisan, objective platform, has announced it is working with reprints and permissions specialist The YGS Group (YGS) to streamline reuse requests for its content. The deal was facilitated by content licensing specialist MEI Global, LLC (MEIG), a leader in helping publishers monetize their digital assets by negotiating and growing third party licensing partnerships.
YGS’ remit includes handling permissions and reuse requests for ELI’s journals, like Environmental Law Reporter and the Environmental Forum, as well as ELI’s books, environmental research reports, podcasts, blogs, and videos. Rachel Jean-Baptiste, ELI’s Associate Vice President for Communications and Publications, says “We look forward to leveraging YGS’ content sales expertise to expand the reach of ELI’s influential research and reporting.” She adds, “MEIG’s deep understanding of the market for reprints and permissions helped us to select the right partner quickly and efficiently, and we’re pleased they’ll remain a hands-on partner in ensuring the deal’s long-term success.”
“ELI’s highly respected publications help shape the fields of environmental law, policy, and management, both in the US and internationally,” says Charles Calta, YGS’ Vice President of Sales. “We are delighted for the opportunity to streamline requests for licensing of ELI content, as well as to seek new usages and licensors who would benefit from increased access, via https://elipermissions.com
MEIG was founded by Randall Marcinko to assist publishers in finding and developing new licensing opportunities, which can be a challenge due to the rapid evolution of licensing models and publisher resource shortages that may prevent a focus on third party distribution opportunities. “We’re pleased to bring ELI and YGS together for a partnership whose beneficiaries include those seeking an efficient way to license environmental content for reuse, whether in a textbook, newsletter, or website,” says Chris Broekhoff, MEIG’s President. He says, “We look forward to proactively supporting the success of this relationship.”
